Smart Tech Review: PumpSpy
Sump pumps are the silent saviors of a home. They're tucked away in the basement or crawlspace of your home and diligently work to prevent water from building up and spreading into other parts of your home. But should your sump pump system fail, you could be in for a terrible surprise.
The best way to avoid your sump pump from failing is to maintain it regularly, and you can do this by:
Clearing debris from the basin and inlet screen, which is on the bottom of the pump (this acts as a filter)
Inspecting the discharge pipe and pump itself for corrosion or damage
Cleaning grimy pump, pit and pipes with diluted vinegar solution
Test the pump by adding water into the basin and make sure the pump turns on by itself and evacuates the water you added into the pit
Outside, ensure the discharge pipe is properly disposing of water at least 20 ft. away from the home
With all of the technology in the world today, it's no surprise that there's now smart tech even for your sump pump!
The PumpSpy is a smart device that will help you to monitor your sump pump system no matter where you are and alert you of any malfunctions or issues that arise. Watch below as Jon demonstrates the use of this product and the benefits of owning one.
