Is your ceiling fan blowing the right way?
Seasonal Ceiling Fan Settings
There are some things that fly under the radar when it comes to keeping your home as cool as possible without running up the bill, and here's a no-brainer so you can chill all summer long:
In the winter, your ceiling fan should be set to run clockwise to create an updraft, pulling the warm air that is rising up and pushing it back out into the room effectively recycling it. In the warmer months, however, your fan should be running counter-clockwise. This creates the opposite effect, a downdraft, which pushes air downwards for a direct and cool breeze while also circulating the air within the room.
A small but effective tip to save your wallet and refresh your home when the outdoor temperatures become unbearable.
